Job summary
DTx is looking for a Master’s degree holder in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related fields to join a multidisciplinary R&D team focused on the development, simulation and prototyping of innovative components and systems (such as prototypes, test-beds, pilot lines, inspection systems) as part of the “H2HUB: Integrated Ecosystem of Technologies for the Storage, Distribution and Sustainable Use of Hydrogen”, “Missão Interface – Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência (PRR; 01/C05-i02/2022)” and “FINDER – Etiquetas Inteligentes Impressas e Sobremoldadas para Gestão de Ativos em Contexto Industrial“ (NORTE2030-FEDER-02138100) projects.
The “H2HUB” project aims to develop a coherent, modular and scalable technological ecosystem geared towards the creation of new products and systems to support the hydrogen value chain, while ensuring their functional robustness, regulatory compliance and production feasibility in an industrial environment. It focuses on five main lines of research: Proportional Electro Pump, Chiller with reduced inertia cooling system, Advanced Storage Tanks, Gas Blending and Quality Analysis Systems (Gas Blender) and Data Digitisation and Intelligence. The experimental and functional validation of the solutions developed will be ensured through the design and construction of two technological demonstrators, designed as mobile hydrogen refuelling units (Hydrogen Refuelling Stations – HRS). “Missão Interface” aims to deepen the effort to expand and consolidate the network of institutions that interface between the academic, scientific and technological system and the Portuguese business sector. The “FINDER” project aims to develop a solution that enables the monitoring and management of productive assets, especially injection molds, on the factory floor, making a significant contribution to business productivity and competitiveness.
Applicants’ profile:
– Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related fields;
– Good knowledge of CAD mechanical design (SolidWorks) – mandatory;
– Experience in 3D prototyping (FDM, SLA) – mandatory;
– Experience in FEM simulation (ANSYS) – nice to have;
– Experience in mechatronics system design – nice to have;
– Ability to work in a team and technical autonomy.
Main responsibilities:
– Development of mechanical components using CAD tools (SolidWorks);
– Performing finite element mechanical simulations (FEM) in ANSYS for structural analysis, concept validation and design optimisation;
– Rapid prototyping of components using 3D printing technologies, namely FDM and SLA;
– Support for the experimental testing phase, functional validation and design iteration;
– Collaboration with materials, electronics and smart manufacturing teams.
The candidates will be integrated in a multidisciplinary research group at DTx that works in close collaboration with academic, R&D and industrial partners.
The position is offered under an uncertain-term employment contract, linked to projects “H2HUB: Integrated Ecosystem of Technologies for the Storage, Distribution and Sustainable Use of Hydrogen”, “Missão Interface – Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência” and “FINDER – Etiquetas Inteligentes Impressas e Sobremoldadas para Gestão de Ativos em Contexto Industrial“, with the possibility of a hybrid working arrangement.
